what you need to know about an accounting advisor education

There are many things you should know before you become an accounting advisor and that is the college requirements to get a degree in accounting, finance or economics. You will be taking the same general education requirements as everyone else and several classes in your major. Some colleges will require an entrance exam which could be rather difficult so you should study. Generally you are tested on your English and math skills so review those a lot. Most programs require around 120-130 credits which is about 30-40 classes. It is a lot of hard work but should pay off in the end.

how to land a job as an accounting advisor

First off the main thing you need to focus on when aiming for a position as an accounting advisor is to get a solid education. I am not talking about going to one of those quick 2 year programs or going to a vocation school. You will need a solid well rounded education in accounting/finance/accounting advisor/or economics from a 4 year school. You can also go to a community college to get an AA in accounting but I'd recommend the 4 year BA degree instead.

Once you've obtained that I would aim for a different accounting job such as an accounts receivable clerk or accounts payable clerk. This way you can use that experience you gain to apply for the position of accounting advisor.

Once you've got that much experience I would recommend applying for your state's CPA which stands of certified public accountant. It basically shows you know what you are talking about when it comes to accounting.
